Imagine setting out on a bear tour, and within minutes, you're treated to a whale sighting! Two majestic humpback whales graced our journey as we sped through the Inside Passage towards our main destination: the grizzly bears of Vancouver Island.
Our guides, Cassie and Guy, were not only experts in wildlife but also members of the Homalco First Nation, known as the 'people of the fast-running waters'. Their cultural insights added a unique layer to our adventure.
In the Presence of Bears
As we approached the bear's habitat, we encountered a mother bear and her playful cub. Watching them from a safe distance, we witnessed their natural behaviors - climbing trees, exploring the beach, and navigating rocky terrain. It was a reminder of the wildness and beauty of nature.
